ARC’s Good Mews Monday

The first of our adoptions took place on Wednesday. That was the day that Shirley, our beautiful 2-year-old Beagle, went to her forever home. Shirley is a love-bug and though she may not be as courageous as her sister Laverne, she is every bit as sweet.

The pair were rescued from the Meade County Animal Control where they were quickly running out of time. Both dogs were emaciated and covered with ticks when they were picked up. The sisters were so grateful to the workers and volunteers at our rescue and now with Shirley being adopted our attention turns to finding Laverne her forever home.

On Sunday we had two kittens, the grey haired cutie, Lil Debbie, and the pretty black and white Elvira go home together! Lil Debbie comes to us off the streets and she is such a cool kitty. Very outgoing and very laid back and she just loves people.

Elvira happens to be the daughter of Sara Lee and the third of her daughters to go home in as many weeks. Sara Lee came to us from Fort Knox a pregnant female who wasn’t able to really nurse her newborn kittens after coming down with mastitis (an inflammation of breast tissue that sometimes involves an infection). Sara Lee’s kittens are all so sweet and outgoing that very soon Sara Lee will be the last one left. Very cool to see these precious girls go home.
