Shannon, a teen cat mommy, and her children Clover (black) and Sinéad (tabby) were rescued from a garden shed off Shamrock St. Not truly feral: Shannon isn’t even a year old yet, but she’s survived with her little ones at least 8 weeks on the streets. We hope they are never hungry or afraid again.

Since its inception in 2016, Cookie’s Legacy has saved hundreds of lives and prevented thousands of unwanted cats who might otherwise be euthanized in shelters or live a dangerous and insecure life on the streets of Hardin County, KY. Each year, approximately 3.7 million shelter animals are euthanized in the United States. Statistics in 2023 are now a nightmare. All our shelters are FULL…and there really are NOT enough homes for them all. Animal shelters and dedicated volunteers have fought to reduce numbers of homeless pets for decades.

Now, shelters all across America see backlash from spay and neuter shutdowns during the Covid-19 Pandemic of 2020.
Shelters are full of unwanted puppies and kittens, and heartless people abandon them everywhere–on roadsides, doorsteps, public parking lots: the callousness and the horrors we see from some shameless people in our community are abominable. We need YOUR help to spay and neuter all these unwanted pets in order to prevent more.
Can you Sponsor A Spay in Cookie’s name to help us help save them? We can’t change the world. But a One Time or Monthly $30 donation or a generous Yearly $360 donation to Sponsor A Spay will make an incredible difference in our community.
Won’t you support Cookie’s Legacy today?
