Assistant Manager Dodie Welch of the Vine Grove Family Dollar was thrilled to announce yesterday that ALL the pet angels on our Angel Tree had been claimed! Dodie, pictured at right, proudly shows off the tree now empty of angels.
Generous patrons and customers, as well as many of the Family Dollar employees, all pitched in to claim an ornament with a picture and name of a homeless ARC pet, to buy and donate cat food, dog food, kitty litter, dog and cat toys and treats!
“I love helping these babies out,” Dodie says. “It sure does my heart good to see all the angels gone from this tree. It makes me want to tear up and cry.” Dodie picked up some more goodies for the pets at the Animal Refuge Center, and has pledged a monthly donation to help our homeless pets, wherever needed.
